I’m Beth Weinstein. And I run. I live in Brooklyn, NYC, and grew up in California. It’s been said that life can be funny sometimes...
You see, when I was in high school, I was the kid that hid under the bleachers to avoid running the “dreaded mile” in gym class. What’s worse is that I talked others into joining me — just because I loved the company! I’ve always liked people and the feeling of being connected.
In my early twenties, I’ll admit it, I was a raver. Mostly because I enjoyed the happiness, self-expression and dancing that brought everyone together. I loved the feeling of being "free", alive and in the moment. Somehow, I got roped into running 5K, 3.1 miles more than I ever wanted to run in my life. But, I did it. And not only did I finish, I loved it. Running a race felt like a big party!
As it turns out, running would get me through the toughest times in my life. I completed my first marathon just two months after my father suddenly passed away from cancer. Crossing the finish line was filled with happiness, cheers, positive energy and a connection that went right through me. I realized that not only was it running that helped me through tough times, but the community of friends I’ve gained along the way. I was hit with a new perspective: running is metaphor for life…if you can run, you can find happiness and peace through tough times. And, if you can run further and faster, you can do anything you set out to do.
I spent over 12 years in the fashion industry bringing great products to life for companies like Macys, The Gap and, particularly, Rebecca Taylor where I produced beautiful designer clothes. But when I needed to get away from the fashion madness, I was running. When I wasn’t working fashion week, I was running. Without even realizing it, most my social life revolved around running. Most importantly, for over eight years, I kept my dream alive of one day combining my love for running and talent in fashion by bringing a well-designed, high-quality, unique, non-mass-market running brand to life. Here it is.
Made in the heart of New York City, OnlyAtoms merges true athletic performance and functionality with premium quality and cool designs, and is built on the strength of community, the pure joy of running, and a sense of being connected. After all, we’re the same, all connected — just like the smallest particles of atoms, the very nature of all matter in the universe — whether we're a marathon winner or a first time 5K'er—we are all the same, made of that same stardust. OnlyAtoms.
